The 20th Century scientific knowledge has changed men's lives more in the past 20 years than in the previous 50; more in that 50 years than in the previous 2000. Man cannot, dare not stop its growth, though he does not know where it is taking him. Have you ever read some of the "Science" or "Mechanic" magazines? Some pretty remarkable inventions are coming to our market every month! Not only has this "Increase in knowledge" affected our technology. We have now come to a full understanding of the prophecies that were "...Sealed ... even to the time of the end..." in the book of Daniel.
Signs- they are all around us! “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” Luke 21:11 
Here is a different class of Signs: "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24 False Prophets; False Christs even doing miracles! “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles…” Revelation 16:14
Matthew 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. How amazingly accurate are these Bible Prophecies and Words of Jesus! Never before has the earth seen such a deluge of interest in the occult and ‘miracles’! In the past decades we have seen countless persons arising claiming to be Christ or to represent Him. Men even going on TV and announcing that Jesus is in the desert and we should go to see Him. Many people claiming to talk to Him in the secret chambers of séances and trances.
Never has the world seen such a desperate need for ‘signs and wonder's mixed with such an indifference to the True Word of God! A man claiming to be a prophet, being interviewed on a talk show was asked if his ‘gift’ met the Bible rules for true prophets. Confused he replied, “I don’t know. I never looked into it.”
Matthew 24:24 …if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
WHY WON’T THEY?
This is one of the most important facts to know, don’t you think so? Why can’t Satan with all his trickery and astounding miracles deceive the elect?
Jesus left us an example in how He handled Satan in the wilderness temptation. Satan appeared as an angel of light. He even quoted the Bible! But Jesus replied “IT IS WRITTEN!” and Satan had to leave.
This is the answer- The only answer!
Even Jesus needed the Word!
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. De 8:3 … man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live." Matthew 4:4
“None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict. To every soul will come the searching test: Shall I obey God rather than men?” GC 593
They love not the truth- they love fables!
